THE IMPORTANCE OF BHAJAN AND SIMRAN IN KALYUG

Since Ages, human being has been doing a lot of bhakti in his endeavour to have God’s darshan and to be his. All devotees are always inquisitive to learn about the way to achieve God in this kalyug, to which our great Guruji says that in kalyug , “ Bhajan ( to sing the Lord’s glory ) & “ Simran “ ( To chant his name always ) is the most ideal way.

It has been seen that in today’s world jealousy prevails everywhere. One woman is jealous of the other woman’s expensive dress, jewellery etc.. Similarly , men are jealous of the other men’s success. As such there are lot of differences of opinion , distances which come up even between the members of the same family viz. father- son, motherson, brother – brother etc. All human beings are upset and entangled in this trap of “ Maya “. They remember the Lord only when they are hurt or upset.

As it is said :

“ Dukh mein Simran sab kare, Sukh mein kare na koi, Jo sukh mein simran kare, To dukh kahe ko hoi “.

The above doha means that we remember God only when we are upset or hurt, Once we are content and happy we don’t even bother to remember him. However, if we maintain a balance and remember God in both good and bad times we shall never be unhappy in our life. This is the most ideal solution to
overcome all the problems in Kalyug i.e. to remember God and chant his name always .We should never compare ourselves with others and evaluate the materialistic comforts that they have gained in their lives in return for the immense amount of bhakti that they have done.

People who evaluate all this are only interested in the fulfillment of their material desires in return for the bhakti and pooja that they do. However do you think that this brings in actual peace and happiness in their houses ? No, and as such they say that they have not benefited from pooja and bhakti. The truth is that while doing pooja / bhakti they are thinking more about their materialistic gains rather than about God . They recite mantras from their mouth, however within their hearts
they are thinking bad about somebody. So do you think such people could ever benefit from God’s pooja?

We should remember that the generous almighty knows what we want and he would bless us with all such comforts / gains even if we don’t ask for them, provided our devotion towards him is genuine and authentic. He also knows about the people who have ill-treated us or have not been good to us and if we are correct , the almighty would himself teach such people a lesson, provided our shraddha ( faith in God ) is genuine.

This can be further proved from the famous example of Bhakta Prahlad, who never prayed against Hirayankasyap , inspite of the immense torture and ill-treatment from the latter’s end. Bhakta Prahlad was only concerned about his bhakti for the Lord. However, as God is everywhere and he sees everything Bhakta Prahlad enjoyed “ Divine Vengeance “ .

As such, we the followers of Guruji should remember that in today’s world its only the Lord’s Bhajan and Simran that cansave us from all the problems. We can remember the lord anywhere and everywhere , be it at work, at home, while resting, while walking, sleeping etc. Its just the lord’s name that we have to remember and this could be done loudly or softly within the heart. The generous and forgiving God does not expect or want anything from us. God is just hungry for LOVE and once we truly start loving him then he is always there to protect us and solve all our problems , just like they way he came to protect and rescue Bhakta Prahlad, his true devotee.

The conclusion is that God is there for everybody. We just have to love him and become his and this can be only achieved in today’s kalyug by “ Bhajan and Simran “ . Our great Guruji thus advises us to follow the above two practices and then see the difference in our lives.
