Guru Chalisa is About Swami Sudarshanacharya Ji Maharaj. A True Guru generally is in such a position that He has attained 'Moksha' or Liberation from the cycle of birth and death, but still takes birth so that He can share with His loved ones the path to attain liberation, or become one with the Supreme God.

Nishkantak ho maarag swami, Cholaa ho nirdosh.
Sadguru tumhari sharan mein, Sadaa rahen santosh.

Let this life of humanity remain thorn less, the human form be free of sin At your feet oh! Sadguru, Let their be satisfaction and gratitude.

Jay Jay Jay Gurudev Gusaayi, Kirpaa karo Daasan par sai.
Tumhari mahimaa dev bhi gaave, Shri charnan mein sheesh jhukaave.

Salutations Oh! Sadguru, shower your blessings on your followers. Heavens too sing in praise of you, And you have bowed your head at the feet of Lord Sri Hari.
Sadgun jaage sab chitmaahi, Gurukirpaa bin sambhav naahin.
Gurusewa sam bhakti na koi, Yog dhiyaan aavat naa mohi.
Good qualities cease to exist in the absence of your grace, Service and devotion to Guru are incomparable and inimitable. I cannot practice Yoga and meditation when I am away from your grace Imbibing good qualities in life, Is impossible without his grace Devotion to Guru is incomparable, Yoga and Meditation too cannot exist without your grace.
Dinan ke tum deen dayaalaa, Kirpa karo mo par kirpaalaa.
Karni se kuch joraa naahin, Nahin kahataa main suni sunaayi.
You have always showered your grace upon the weak; never fail to shower them on this humble follower like me. There is nothing that relates to what one does, As whatever is said is not something that has already been said.
Vidhi niyam jap tap nahin aave, Daas tumhaara daas kahaave.
Hun tumhare daasan ko daasa, Aur nahin kachu more paasaa.
I have never known the ways of meditation, I remain a humble servant of your grace. And shall always live to be a humble disciple of yours, I have nothing that belongs to me and taking your name, I am just your follower and Just the follower of your court, I have nothing that belongs to me.
Sadguru tum ho dayaa ke saagar, Dhanay huvaa mein dar pe aakar.
Sidhan ko bhi dene vaale, Daataa apne bade niraale.
You, Oh! Sadguru are the sea of benevolence, I am indebted to you and remain at your court. You are someone who gives even to the siddha purushas (the acclaimed), You are the benefactor and indeed quite unique.
Naaraayan ke daras tumhaare, Tum bhaktan ke praanan piyaare.
Tumhari lilaa tum hi jaano, Daasan ko prabhu apnaa maano.
You have the grace of Lord Naaraayan and have had his darshan, You Oh! Lord, are dear to all your devotees. Only you understand the intent of your pastimes (your actions), Oh! Lord, do embrace your humble followers
Ved shaastra ki shobhaa tumse, Brahm vaakiya nikle hai mukhse.
Roop tumhaaraa Jyoti swaroopaa, Dhiyaan tumhaaraa param anoopaa.
The brilliance of Vedas and shastras substantiate your abilities, You have been able to utter the sacred Brahma vaakya (that which is spoken by Lord Brahma). Your radiance matches that of the jyoti (lamp), And the very thought of you bestows a unique state of mind, Veda and shastras shower brilliance with your abilities, Your form has the brilliance of a lamp, The very thought of you is extremely unique.
Kirpadirishti Sadguru kar dije, Bahvbaadhaa mori har lije.
Bhakti ko tum yaad bataate, Deenoo par tum daya dikhaate.
Cast the grace of your eyes on me, Oh! Sadguru do ensure that I cross this ocean of misery. You inspire bhakti in others, You are benevolent on the weak.
Teeno kaal ke tum ho giyaataa, Bhaagvaan hi sharan mein aataa.
Chamatkaar tum nitya dikhaate, Vishvasi ke bhaag jagaate.
You are aware of the past, present and the future, God also wishes to surrender to you. You create miracles in this world and spark the flame of luck in those who are faithful.
Tumharo aasan brahma ko aasan, Aage kahoun paay anushaasan.
Nibalo ke sambal hai daataa, Janam-Janam kaa tumse naataa.
Your seat is like the seat of Lord Brahma, While I speak of you further in this epoch. Cater to the needs of the weak, as we are associated with you in this cycle of birth and death.
Parmhans hai param gati mein, Agiyaani ki yahi mati mein.
Samrath tumhari jag jaane hai, Jagatguru duniyaa maane hai.
You are known to be the Paramahansa (the swan of knowledge), I am the ignorant and this is just what I know. The world is aware of your abilities, you are the renowned Jagadguru.
Dhan-dhan Sadguru bhagiya hamaare, Jo paaye hai charan tumhaare.
Sharnaagat ke tum rakhwaale, Jo chaahe sharnaagati paale.
We are blessed Oh! Sadguru, That we have finally sought to surrender at your feet. You are the one who bestows the supreme sharanagati (concept of total surrender), You are not prejudiced about the fact as to who seeks it.
Bhoot piret baadhaa har lete, Jahaan ek dirishti kar dete.
Sab deenan per dayaa tumhari, Hai samdarshi! jagat murari.
Your name delivers us from evil spirits, You Oh! Lord, are equal to all forms of life. Your eternal grace remains with the weak, Oh! Lord, adorned with the persona of equality.
Shobha is dar ki hai niayaari, Nayochaavar mein bali balihari.
Shradha suman kare nit arpan, Paaya hai gar maanav jeevan.
The brilliance of this place is unique, I have come to surrender to you. If you have received this human form of life, pray to the Lord offering flowers of your devotion in his worship.
Maanav-jeevan kirpa Raam ki, Mahima jaano Guru naam ki
Bhav saagar ye paar karaaye, Gurukirpa sab kaam banaaye.
This birth as human form is earned by the grace of Lord Rama, Seek the grace of his greatness, the Guru. You are the lead that helps us cross this materialistic world; it is the grace of the Guru that shows you the path of renunciation.
Apni saari nek kamaayi, Jan-Jan pe hai sadaa lutaayi
Apnaa tap partaap baant te, Vidhi kaa likha roj taalte.
All the good that you have earned in your life, you have showered it on everyone around. You have showered the most powerful effect of your meditation, You have been able to change destiny of man.
Bhaag palat santaan dilaate, Ruke huve sab kaam banaate.
Paramsidh jo bhi farmaate, Vo sab atal satya ho jaate.
You have been able to change destiny of some and bless them with progeny, you have been able to mend all that could never ever have been done. Oh! Well acclaimed Siddha purusha whatever you say, Stands as the eternal truth in this world.
Jo Sadguru ki sharan mein aaya, Jisne Sadguru naam kamaaya.
Us par kabhi kasht nahin aaya, Jo maangaa so usne paaya.
Who ever seeks the sharan (surrenders to the Guru) of his Guru and earns the grace of Sadguru. Never encounters difficulties in life and always receives all that he asks for.
Sidh karo yah vaani Guruvar, Tumhari kirpa rahe jan-jan par.
Daas tumhaaraa sadaa kahegaa, Guru chaalisaa amar rahegaa.
Prove this true Oh! Lord, That your grace reaches everyone on this earth. We shall always remain your followers and the Guru Chaalisa shall always remain everlasting in our hearts.
Jo nit paath karega bhaai, Taa par kirpaa kare Guru maie.
Jay Gurudev jai Shri Gurudeva, Paarasnaath kare nit sewaa.
One, who constantly, chants the Chaalisa, The Guru shall always shower his grace on them. Salutations Gurudeva Obeisance to you, Paarasnath shall ever remain at your service.
